Earth's Awesome Spheres

This is the Atmosphere. The Atmosphere is the envelope of gases surrounding the Earth. 78% of it is Nitrogen, 21% is Oxygen, and 1% is water vapor. With out the atmosphere there would be no life on Earth.

 

The composition and structure of the atmosphere protect us by burning up an asteroids/meteors coming to hit us. The composition and Structure of the Atmosphere insulate Earth by absorbing heat and trapping it in.

 

The atmosphere has 5 layers. The troposphere which humans interact with. Its the part we live in and 75% of the air in the atmosphere is in the troposhere. The next layer is the Stratosphere. It contains the ozone and is 50km up. Th next layers is the mesosphere. Its is -90C up there. And it has a mesopause. The next layer is the Thermosphere and Ionosphere. The temp there is increased by energetic ultraviolet and x-ray radiation. It is more then 100Km up. The next layer is the Exosphere. It is above 500km up. It contains mainly oxygen and hydrogen atoms, but they barely touch.
